"This place ha a nice atmosphere and at lunchtimes gets plenty of local trade. Olivier (the owner) and his family are nice people and nothing seems too much trouble. Menus du jour are unfailingly good, well cooked and presented and dejeuner is always totally unhurried - but service between courses is quick without being frantic. A nice choice of wines (the white Bordeaux is especially good) and a very good a la carte menu for the size of the place. Even the local gendarmes eat there!Would we go again? No doubt - in fact we'll be back there in September!"

"Had a lovely meal in this restaurant last week. We were staying in La Roche Chalais, and as our guesthouse didn't do evening meals, we wandered the 1/2 minute walk to this place. Had a very good meal, with a nice bottle of wine, all served in a friendly and professional manner, and all at a very affordable price."
