Mac's Fish Chips - Saint Paul

Delicious old fashioned fish n' chips. Fries are plentiful and taste good but are a limp and oily. Definitely go for the made to order fried fish. It is the best. Don't think you're gonna eat in the restaurant in the summer as there's no cooling and the expanse of glass on the storefront combined with the 17 fryers going makes the interior dining room temp often hover around 875 degrees. Minus one star until Mac gives those fry cooks a raise for enduring that heat.

I really enjoyed their fried fish, with the coating extremely light and crispy. The fish is also very delicious. Cole slaw is not good (a bit wilty) but the fries with light sea salt is very nice. It is a super oily meal but doesn't feel like it. Excellent food.

Best shrimp I ever had!! Small local spot that has been here forever.

Super fresh and made to order. Food had a nice crisp to it. We ordered walleye, shrimp and cheese curds. Cheese curds and walleye were fantastic. Shrimp needed a bit more seasoning and the breading was slightly crumbly. I will return for sure.

Always fresh, hot and tasty! Portions still generous. 1 basket meal feeds 2 with normal to smaller appetites.Fries seemed to have changed, but still good. Coleslaw never disappoints. Loved sitting at patio sets outdoors njoying our meal.
