Enjoying a quiet winter holiday in Salies, not all restaurants wee open.... but the charming restaurant at the Hotel du Oarc (Casino) was busy and delicious. Great prices, great flavours, contemporary fare and lovely service in an historic Art Deco locale. Definitely worth a visit to this lovely restaurant in this seriously pretty village. What Pakax doesn't like about Au Fil Du Temps:
We were staying at the hotel so had lunch there. Food was ok/good but for instance, the salmon tartare starter is simply not a TARTARE. It’s basically a salad with cooked salmon on top. The rest was good quality. Service was very slow: stayed 2 hours at the restaurant and it was just two people And my wife took the menu du jour. Far too long and it wasn’t that busy. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice tho so its... View all feedback.
Interesting place, not very clean, where the dégustation de vins never made it to our table and we had to take forks from the adjacent table. Café gourmand not gourmand at all. A true pity for a location with lots of potential.
The casino is not so big but it has a friendly atmosphere. If you want to make new friends this is a good place to start.
We were directed to a table that wobbled, so did the next people's. My wife had a main of magret de canard (duck breast) which had the required fat not rendered enough. I chose a fish curry which turned out to be a pasta with a very small amount of fish. Service was fine we were allowed to access Wifi in the lounge area.
The kitchen is not up to the prices. The dishes are too simple, the service is very professional. chairs deserve to be changed. Too bad the room is as majestic as the building but deserve to be maintained.
We had reserved for people for , the meal ended around a little long at the end of the meal , it had to wait for desserts yet ordered at the beginning of the meal) and we had forgotten the coffees! the chosen dishes were good and copied ham serrano, salmon tartare, burger, entrecôte and lamb ris we also enjoyed desserts (profits and strawberries with lemon cream) and coffee (wait very good too. no whisky offered to the aperitif... damaging. the restaurant room lacks heat and cachet to be in line with the casino park! correct prices
