"I’ve always liked this store and what it had to offer but today I went in to get a few items. As I was shopping I passed by the cold coffee and thought I could use a pick me up, I opened the can and drank while shopping. I gave the empty can you the cashier and asked her to ring it up and she looked at me and stated that I had commented a crime, temporary thief, I question and said I’ve never heard of that I’m sorry, she goes into explain that I could get in trouble and arrested. I said but I’m paying for it, I have not left the store. She then went into more details explaining how wrong I was made me feel 5” tall in front of the people in line. I paid for all my items including the open cold coffee. After leaving I looked up and made a call about what happen. This cashier is not only rude but she is uninformed on the law and her corporate rules. Dollar general that wish for you to pay before consuming must post on the front door their wishes to have a customer pay before opening any products to taste, snack, eat or drink. I wanted to go back and explain this to the cashier but I feel it would have been just a waste of time. If your in the area stop by, have a coke, cold coffee or a few cookies while shopping, remember to pay before leaving.., because it’s not against the law!!"
