"So disappointed they had to close recently as the safety measures were at such a high standard and the staff are always amazing. Been getting the chocolate ice cream for years and it just gets better and better! My husband wanted the lotus flavour but they ran out and the boy said he would make him a lotus Sunday with lotus sauce and bits such great service and my husband said it was amazing! Hope they open back up soon!"

"I have lunch in small talk frequently and I’m used to it being busy . Today was no exception . However the attitude of the waitering staff has definitely gone down hill . Firstly when asked to stand out side we stood on the apparently) wrong side and my partner and I were ordered like cattle to stand on the other side . We dutifully stood for 10 mins waiting for a table . Soon the window table became available and my partner asked if we could sit here . At this point a part of 3 or 4 had arrived and my partner was rudely told ‘no you can wait for a table that sits 2 to become available’ The larger party were then taken before us and we were left to stand outside . Now I know small talk and I know just how small the ‘small’ 2 seater tables are . My partner is a large guy larger people are more comfortable at larger tables ! Anyway at this point we felt rather annoyed and choose to leave . I do understand that establishments want to maximise their profits and have maximum numbers per tables however if his doesn’t give them cart blanche to be rude and totally revoke a request for a table . It’s a shame that they are employing staff with these attitudes as the food is always first class ."

"This was my first venture after lockdown. Couldn't have been better. Lovely old building and bar. Incredibly friendly welcome from the owners who was cleaning constantly. The whole thing felt safe.The food was lovely ... real chips! Newly made awesome fish cakes. They have a great garden for eating and drinking outside. Highly recommend this if you are on a trip to the area. Very dog friendly which is a bonus."

"Spa Day with girlfriends- absolutely amazing. Gorgeous place, all cosy and calm and lush. Feels private and not over busy. Thermal room is very relaxing and outside area is fab even in the winter cold. Staff were all fantastic, you feel very well looked after. My treatments were the best I have had in a very long time. My therapists manner and attention to detail was perfect and the products are divine. I felt so chilled out during and after. You are taken to the most chilled out room afterwards to relax and I can honestly say the whole day was possibly the best spa experience we’ve had in Scotland so far and we have been trying a good few out. Highly recommend."

"This place is epic! Cycled there from Glasgow. Got to leave bikes in safe, locked, back garden/outdoor area. Super friendly staff. I had food envy for pretty much every dish I saw! I've never seen so many delicious cakes. Settled for a biscoff cinnamon roll which didn't disappoint! Lots of books for kids, and a wee play park. Heaters in outdoor area. Dog friendly. They've really thought of everything. We'll definitely be back!"

"Just been for a lovely meal with my wife and 2 kids (3 and 5 years old). It was very nice and the service was great. Portion size was good and the man helped us with ordering as we didn't want anything too spicy for our children. We are currently on holiday at the Park Dean nearby and would recommend this place as a treat for tea one evening. Thanks"
