Cantina La Manifestación, México

This place was close by our hotel and looked fun with a good crowd of mostly Mexicans dining there. Since we were Americans, they gave us English menus as we were seated. We noticed many of the nearby customers were drinking liter glasses of draft beer, and we noticed they were a particularly good value at 105 pesos. We weren’t very hungry so my wife just ordered a bowl of chicken soup, and I had the popcorn chicken which was 20 small nuggets coated with my choice of sauce. Both dishes were served quite quickly, we both thought they were good. Service was good and we had enjoyed our visit so when we went to pay with a credit card, I had our server (Cherry) add a 15% gratuity to the total. I noticed her typing something on the credit card machine and when I received the printed bill, I noticed she had increased my tip by an additional 13 pesos. I was not pleased by this but didn’t want to make a scene over such a small amount so I’m just cautioning diners to review the bill closely. We did come back a couple days later to watch an NFL football game and had no such issues with our server that evening.
