"Don't hesitate to ask them for the flavors that you want! They're geniuses. I don't know how they they did it but with just couple of vague pointers from my side I had cocktails that were so perfect they filled a hole in my soul. This place was the highlight of my trip in Salzburg."

"While this restaurant is located a little off the beaten track, it is well worth making the trip to experience some truly unique dumpling dishes. Austria is famous for their Knödel (dumplings), but most of the time they are a rather plain variety called Semmel-knödel,...which usually accompanies a meat and vegetable dish. Here, the Knödel are the main attraction. The Gasthaus offers 15 different dumpling dishes. Many are made with a different meat or sausage, while one is made with mushrooms and another with spinach. You can order a dish with just one flavor or select a mixed plate to sample a wider variety of taste experiences. They even have sweet dessert dumplings too. We were amazed at their unique variety and this was matched by the friendly service and cheerful surroundings."

"This restaurant has been highly rated by many experienced reviewers and we were eager to check it out. We too are foodies and you may have seen my reviews of restaurants from many countries over the world. This one provided a Lovely setting, superb service, but was without a doubt overly pretentious. The setting down of a once used fork or empty plate resulted in the arrival of two wait persons, who swiftly carried away the evidence. Similarly, all new plates seemed to require two people for delivery. The amuse-bouche, the cleansing courses, the beautiful artistry of each plate , and superb flavors were wonderful. However the waits between courses became aggravatingly slow and the $6.50 charge for what appeared to be tap water in a clear bottle seemed a little over the top. Serving sizes were much less than the photos show--my deer calf loin consisted of two 50 cent size pieces of meat atop a 1/4" inch deep smear of mashed potatoes--ahhh, but with the most delicious cherry sauce imaginable; my husband's order of steak was again wonderful, but miniscule. Artistry seems most important-. One of the menu items included a tiny 1" clay flower pot, filled with something like strawberry sorbet, and had a tiny little white flower planted in it. Many of the plates had a design of spread food decorated with created red or green berries or flowers which had been made of crushed red fruit or green peas or some other appropriately colored item. We had opted for the five-course fixed price menu, but the menu itself was confusing with each item individually priced as well as totaled. My lone gin and tonic was priced at $14 for the gin,$3.70 for the tonic water, The food itself could not have been better. At the end of two hours, tired and maybe a bit jet-lagged, we called a halt to it, opted out of the desert (which I will forever regret), paid our $226.70 Euro bill and escaped. If you are very patient and want to enjoy a lot of theater with your food, this might be the place--overall, it seemed to me like a food farce, an unnecessary exaggeration of dining and maybe a bit like a Barbie Doll Tea party."

"Konoba Pinna Nobilis is a new seafood restaurant in Hallein everyone is raving about, so of course we had to see for ourselves. It is a small and cozy restaurant with tasteful interior. The young waitress was particularly charming. While my family ordered the fixed menu, I decided to have fish soup as a starter (the daily special, I didn't know what it would cost), a seafood platter and my dad's dessert from the fixed menu. The soup, accompanied by bread, was good, although I have eaten better. I really enjoyed my seafood platter - grilled shrimp, calamari and scallops with a handful of veggies and potatoes - and I tasted some of the fish from the fixed menu which was also excellent. When I was done with my main course, however, I still felt quite hungry and I wished there had been more potatoes and veggies on my plate. This is something I will never understand: Why do restaurants skimp on the sides? They aren't expensive and they will ensure that the customers leave the restaurant with full bellies.I hoped that the dessert - two slices of chocolate mousse with fresh fruit - would save me but it didn't.When the check came, I was surprised to notice that the fish soup, which was a starter, was that expensive. If I had spent 2€ more I could have eaten the three course fixed menu. It would have been nice of the waitress to point that out to me beforehand. So, while the atmosphere and the seafood at Konoba Pinna Nobilis undoubtedly are very good, they should work on transparency and the amount of sides they put on their plates."
