What ogawa takuji doesn't like about The 5s Box Indian Papa:
I used to frequent some Indian restaurant in Manila and Tokyo (New bombay, Ajanta)often. I believe I have a basic understanding of Indian cuisine. The prices at this restaurant are a bit steep, generally two times higher than average. Personally, I don't think the taste is worth the price. From next time, I'll go to restaurant next to DMSF that is popular among Indian students. Lastly, despite the price, we received... View all feedback.
The food, service time and staff were impeccable. Thrilled to have found a place this good. Highly recommended.
Because I was craving for Indian cuisine, I went to this place near DMSF to check if my hunger will be satiated. Let me praise the interior, very chic, oozing with vibrant colors, Instagrammable! The tables and chairs compliment each other adding up to the theme of the place. The owner greeted us, very friendly, introduced us about the foods they offer, we felt really nice about her gesture. We settled in and started to order. For appetizer I ordered Pav Bhaji (it's a vegetarian dish with potatoes, lentils, cauliflower, bell peppers, and mixed spices) it comes with two buttered buns. Then I ordered Butter Chicken, it was simmered in yogurt with mixed spices to enhance the flavor of the meat, then Naan and Puri to go with it, then I also got their tandoori chicken leg, they serve it with their pudine ki chutney (mint and coriander) also a god one. Instead of ordering Biryani, I got jasmine rice, mind you the orders are shareable, hefty amount of foods. I wanted to try their Frankies (their take on burrito) so I also ordered their chicken frankie and of course my favorite samosa, I ordered two (two pieces per order with their imli ki chutney) I love the tamarind chutney so much that I end up dipping my Puri in it. We capped our meal with their Kesar Pista Kulfi (one of my favorite) very subtle yet rich and creamy with pistachios and saffron. I was so happy with the foods I ordered. My friend, Bebs liked it too (it was her first time to try Indian foods) she said every bite is bursting with flavor, she was having a hard time explaining it hahaha. The good thing about this restaurant is that you can request your dish on how spicy you want it to be, I can't tolerate dishes that are too spicy so I asked them to just tone down on the spice level and they obliged to my request. Thank you so much 5S BOX INDIAN RESTAURANT for our wonderful and busog visit, indeed we're full to the brim. And I might as well add, the price of the foods they offer is very affordable, so sulit. If you're craving for Indian foods, visit them at Lot 495 Dr Gahol Ave. near DMSF Bajada, Davao City
Delicious and flavorful chicken meals (butter masala, tika). Refreshing yogurt drink and a unique ice cream line up. Must try if you want a different cuisine without having to adjust to strong spices than we are accustomed to. Staff anticipates your needs and understands the Menu well so you will not have a hard time ordering. Priced above average.
They serve northern indian cuisine that is delicious. It can be a bit expensive though and if you prefer spicy food, regular hot sauce has more heat.
The resto was chic, stylish, and modern. The beef kima was delicious. The biryani platter was sufficient for 3 persons. The taste wasn't really at par yet with the good biryanis I've tried locally and abroad. The kind owner promised to have an Indian chef soon, and that would be something to look forward to. The service was excellent. The menu was a bit pricey, even higher than that of the Indian restos in Manila. Nonetheless, we would certainly come back and check out the food especially that a new Indian chef is joining.
