I enjoyed the chicken fajitas. The cheese enchiladas were decent, but I've had better elsewhere. The Barracho Beans were a highlight for me. The chips were thick and a bit stale. I wasn't a fan of the roasted tomato salsa as it tasted burnt. The service was outstanding! While the restaurant itself is nice, the atmosphere doesn't feel very Mexican. View all feedback.
What Ryan Edwards doesn't like about El Mirasol:
After 5 visits trying different menu items all I can say is the food and drinks are inconsistent and the service is consistently slow and poor. Some visits the food and chispas were good, some bad, some ok. Tonight the chips were burnt, the chicken fajitas flavorless, the chispas had too much lime, and the service was slow. We saw our waiter only 4 times the entire visit. Drinks order, drinks delivery, food order, ch... View all feedback.
The foods and drinks are brilliant, but if they like to melt from bugs and with their drink, because they cannot wait, then this is the place for them. the hostesses are rude and the bartenders will follow them if they don't think they are worth their time! I need to find a better Margarita spot. all suggestions welcome.
They came out of the tor with some of the best chips and salsa I had ever in a Mexican restaurant! the service was great, they were friendly, attentive and fast. However, the food lacked any type of stamp in taste. it was decent, but nothing woke me. what I expect from good Mexican foods is a taste stamp that audiblely tell me what the chips did, that the rest of the food was just decent.
The rinderfajitas were ok, the black angus ribeye tasted like normal rock steak my mind after. the kalamari was strongly baked and very chewing. on a better note, the garnels were well cooked and had great taste. the margarite were delicious and refreshing. an average upscale Mexican restaurant.
This is a sister restaurant to soluna, which means they can get their chiapas, what I can say is a tequila and limette drink and lacks all sugar and sweetness. they do not share the recipe. we came to lunch and had cilantro enchiladas and afteros. the nachos are not on the midday menu, but they can order from the main menu, just ask. the tito’s margarita is also great if you don’t like tequila. the terrace is beautiful, I wish they have raised the sides, but it is nice to sit outside in wonderful weather, the bar is also amazing.
Early Wednesday night dinner El Mirasol. We arrived at 5:20pm and we found a parking space and we were able to be seated immediately. If we had been 15 minutes later it would have been a 20 minute wait! The servers are excellent and very attentive. El Mirasol has always served great drinks and Wednesday was no exception. Long Island Ice Tea and a top-shelf Mango Margarita got the evening started off right. The waiter was very engaging and even with his mask on, we were able to communicate easily. We ordered the El Mirasol Queso for starters and for our Dinner, we got our favorites... Carne a la Tampiquesa (marinated skirt steak) and Enchilada Verdes... Their steak is absolutely the best, really. It was a perfect evening. I believe El Mirasol is the premier Mexican Restaurant in San Antonio... and their newest 1604 location is fantastic. 6 Stars
