I had the Shrimp al Mojo de Ajo. It was excellent. I would definitely get it again. Shrimp was nicely cooked. The garlic butter is just fantastic. Chips and salsa was very good. Excellent overall, I highly recommend it View all feedback.
What Clarissa R doesn't like about Avilas El Ranchito Corona Del Mar:
Filthy and horrible service. Waiter held my ID hostage. Asked for drink menu and wouldn't bring it. Margaritas? More like tap water margs. Silver ware was dirty. Food was not authentic- and I would know because I'm an Expat. Food was just warmed up and not prepared by hand. Tables smelled horrible. And I mean HORRIBLE. Not worth taking the food to go. This a local popular Mexican food restaurant. Avila 's El Ranchito is located on East Coast Hwy, right after Carnation Ave, in Corona Del Mar Also, Avila 's El Ranchito was voted Best Mexican Restaurant in 2020 by readers pulled by the Orange County Register LA. It has been on my list of places to try out. We celebrated my daughter 's birthday here on a November weekend. They have indoor and outdoor dining because; because we had our dog with us, we opted to eat in the outdoor covered patio. I Always thought it looked like a nice restaurant to enjoy an awesome meal. Now I can cross it off my list. Pro if you like to admire one of a kind, high end and clasic/antique sports cars with bright colors and loud engine,t his is your place. On Sundays, more of these cars are out for a joy ride on PCH. However, it can get a bit loud at times. The service was very attentive, right on point it and consisted of three different people bringing in water, menus and serving our meals. We are familiar with Avila 's El Ranchito because we have been to a couple of their other locations (in Seal Beach and Laguna Beach). My daughter needs to have gluten free food and they have delicious gluten free options. All their combinations are served with a generous portions of rice, and beans topped with melted cheese. We ordered the 2 Chile Relleno combination accompanied with rice and beans (this was shared between two adults), The Burrito Taco combination and my daughter ordered chicken soup with 2 chicken Crunchy Tacos filled with their well seasoned chicken. We love desserts but ended up leaving dessert in another place. Overall it was a great experience and I 'm definitely looking forward to stopping by soon for another visit. Parking on the street or drive behind the building for additional public pay parking
The food is AMAZING! Love that it's a family owned chain, you can definitely tell the recipes are crafted with love and good flavor. Manuel was our server and he was such a gentleman, even comped our meal because it took a little bit longer to prepare. Will definitely be back !
