"I stayed in San Costantino Albanese for 4 nights. On the Sunday, my last day, there was a religious celebration in town with a procession of the Madonna. Afterwards many people were going to the Agriturismo Acquafredda in the mountains for lunch. The people, of mainly Albanian origins, didn 't seem very welcoming or friendly towards a solo traveler. I asked the mayor, who I had met briefly, if he could find someone to give me a lift to the Agriturismo, where people were going for lunch. He did. I was planning to go for a long walk through the woods then stop for a snack. When I got there I asked a man, dressed in typical Albanian traditional dress, and who ran the Agricuturismo restaurant if after my walk I could stop to eat something. He was very unfriendly and cold and replied no . I said I would actually prefer to eat outside in front of the fire, if the restaurant was full, where they were roasting the meat. As I wasn 't hungry it didn 't bother me. But when I came back from my walk I asked him if I could get a sandwich as I need to eat something as I was a diabetic. Reluctantly and coldy he agreed to have a very poor sandwich sent to me with nothing to drink. I couldn 't understand this very rude and uncivilised behaviour. I didn 't even feel I was in Italy as most people are generally friendly. I had to ask a guest if he could bring me a glass of wine to accompany the dry bread with a sausage. Later I went to the manager and the mayor saying that their behaviour had been uncivilised unwelcoming towards a visitor and that there were going to waste a lot of food anyway as the lunch had come to end. After I realised that they thought I wanted to eat for free as a drunken guest told me. So when I finished eating the terrible sandwich I asked the manager how much it was: he said; give me two euros . The manager 's name was I later learned, Enzo Mangiacavalli. I would strongly travelers to avoid this unwelcoming and unfriendly establishment."
