When I went to Midori in Santa Cruz, I expected vegan sushi and poke dishes since it has the same menu as the one in Berlin. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find an additional lunch menu. What User doesn't like about Midori:
We tried the vegetable sushi, poke dish, edamame, a quinoa vegetable dish, and seaweed salad during our two visits to the restaurant. My favorite dishes were the vegetable sushi and the seaweed salad. Unfortunately, the poke dish was bland and lacked proper dressing (only soy sauce) with a small portion size for the high cost of $13. We have visited this restaurant multiple times and tried their only two vegan sushi rolls. On our last visit, we were craving something different and were pleasantly surprised to find they offered a Beyond burger with vegan mayonnaise. The food here is delicious and their cocktail drinks are fantastic! However, the prices are on the higher side compared to other dining options.
If you visit Midori on Santa Cruz, you can expect to find vegan sushi and poke bowls on the menu. In addition to their regular offerings, they also have a lunch menu that includes a beyond meat burger. I asked for the burger at 7:30pm and they were still able to serve it to me. The burger appeared to be vegan, with a white onion sauce, avocado, and salad, but no cheese. However, it was served on a brioche bun. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. As someone who has been trying to eat more vegetarian meals, I find being 100% vegan quite challenging.
The sushi at this restaurant is fresh and delicious, the cocktails are good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the use of quality national ingredients. The prices are average compared to other restaurants, but what sets this place apart is its originality and fusion of international cuisine with the abundant local products. It was an exquisite dining experience! I highly recommend trying one of their menus, it was absolutely delicious!

The burger appeared to be vegan, with a white-ish patty that didn't have cheese, but instead was topped with avocado and salad. I suspect the bun was brioche. Overall, it was pretty good, although I must admit I was a bit surprised that not everything was completely vegan. It seems like achieving a 100% vegan menu might be a challenge.

There are limited vegan options in the city, which is why we returned to this restaurant. The food quality is generally good, but the portion sizes do not match the prices. Despite being a popular spot, especially among tourists, the value for money is not great overall. The cocktails are also delicious, and they can accommodate requests like substituting milk for coconut milk.
