I can 't put how good this place is into words. You have to go and experience it yourself. I have been many times and each time had wonderful food. The first time I went I had the New York Strip. It was cooked beautifully and the stuffed mushrooms from the bar are killer. The next time I went in I tried something I have never had. Bison steak. This cut of meat was wonderful, I know this is a marbled cut of meat and there was some fat on it but don’t let that scare you away. Since the first time I had it, I have had it 4 more times. I can 't go back to normal steak. My recommendation would be to have the chef cook it according to his preference. Someday I will go in and try something different.

This might be my new favorite downtown restaurant. The rustic dishes, generous portions and incredible flavors, especially from the wood fired grill, are exceptional. I ordered everything on the starter menu to get a nice flavor tour, plus three desserts.The meatballs are fire smoked and crazy good. Always add the off-menu surf 'n 'turf option if available (yummy wood-firedshrimp). Service was great for what was a busy night.

Everything about this meal was on point. The food was cooked perfectly, thoughtful pairings, and came out quickly. The drinks were delicious and made really well. Service was fast, friendly, and the server put up with our ridiculous questions and senseof humor. I’ll definitely go back again.

De-li-cious! Cowboy star was one of the first restaraunts I went to while visiting San Diego on a work trip, and it messed up my food experience everywhere else because the other places couldn't compare. The steak here is spectacular. We ordered 3 differentcuts and all were amazing, perfectly seasoned and cooked at the exact right temperature. You wouldn't believe how many places DONOT get the temperature right in steaks. Amazing wine drinks selections, great decor, and the best bartenders in town. . . Theguy who in charge of the grill was a master of his art ????. . . I would def recommend this place go all , date or casual eat.

Another 5 star experience at Cowboy Star! We were lucky enough to have Francisco be out waiter again, truly made the experience 110% better. Our seating was excellent and the food was phenomenal.
