I brought a friend here for her birthday lunch. The retro hotel lobby was decorated with Valentine’s decor photo ops! The cafe looks like an eatery you would find on Main Street at Disneyland. We each had mini waffles and eggs and coffee. Cute place! View all feedback.
What SG0002 doesn't like about The Waffle Spot:
We were waiting to check into our hotel. This was the closest restaurant to us. We got seated kind of quickly. We sat for a while and ordered waters and they never came back. They finally took our order and we got the French dip. And a house salad. When the food finally came the salad was missing cheese and croutons and the French dip was missing the Aujou which makes up the whole French dip. The French dip was good... View all feedback.
It was a wait to get in with many travelers enjoying the leisure mood of this Cafe. There were certainly plenty of choices on the menu to satisfy anyone's taste. I chose the Eggs Waffle Benidicts with country potatos. I think it was an excellent choice. The waffles were thich and fluffy with a good malty taste. The poached eggs were cooked just right with LOTS of runny yolks. And the Holendaise sauce was hot and flowing. All that yolk and sauce got stopped up by the country potatos. All to make a good, filling breakfast. If like to complain about the other diners who tied up a table long after they were finished eating while many waited in line to be seated. But it would do no good as it was not the restaurants fault. So here is my review Picture just as they should be.
Loved this place. My Churro Waffle Platter featured two sunny eggs and some nice home fries with peppers and onions. Whoever thought of making a churro waffle is a genius. This baby had crunchy edges, was sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar, and was served with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Didn’t necessarily need it, but I drizzled it with some maple syrup and ka-POW, it rocked. The coffee was somewhat better than you typically find at a diner. A clean interior and excellent, knowledgeable, genuinely friendly service rounded out a great experience.
Wife and I split a signature dish, their Waffle Benedict. Two mini waffles, two Canadian bacon and poached, a small side of potatoes. coffee,a small OJ, and a small milk. $30. Quantity was sufficient for two, Bennie was OK, waffle tasty, Bennie sauce sweet rather than a hint of lemon. Service good, staff friendly if not real attentive. Had to keep asking for coffee, : Walking distance from several hotels on the South Hotel Circle. Breakfast until 1 PM, them Mexican food.
As we stayed in the Kings Inn hotel, we had 3x breakfast here. The first time, we were early so no waiting time. The 2nd and 3rd time there was a queue and you had to register electronically. It was quite a long waiting time. The breakfast diner area is not big, so they also served in the next door mexican restaurant. to be honest I did not like this. The food overall was good. Portion size too much. They could serve less and lower the price. I asked for toast and eggs and bacon, all were sides. This was served at separate small plates and I did not get a plate. Not so handy. The place is too busy and does not have the capacity if the hotel is full. But there is nothing else around, if you dont want to drive somewhere. Staff is friendly, but I think they were understaffed and I understand the problem with staffing at the moment.
Great food and great service but being brits portion size was big for us so had to leave some. Tasted lovely and waitress helped us decide what to get.
