What Sascha Echtermann doesn't like about The Occidental Cigar Club:
First of all...I don't know anything about cigars. I was supposed to bring cigars for a colleague and he recommended this place in San Francisco. I was briefly shocked at the price and instead of buying a box, I bought 2 of each Arturo Fuente variety. Afterwards I realized that this store sold me the cigars for $38 instead of $8. Lots of friendly people here to meet. Bartender is friendly and knowledgeable of all cocktails.. selection of drinks is on par with other bars. Guests are behaved. Went here 5 nights straight when I was in town for an event. Bartender remembers your name, drink, and cigar. I took 1 star off for two things. One, their cigar racks and choicrs are not that extensive. Two, the bar is actually rather small. Overall though, it's a pleasant bar to be in.
Such an amazing and memorable spot. Loved the cozy ambience and relaxing vibe. Good selection of cigars! Professional and polite staff. Highly recommend. I have enjoyed my Oliva serie V Lancero.
BEST time ever. Got to the spot 30 min before close but James treated us incredibly. Best service, best cigars, best little spot in SF. Will be recommending to all of my friends and family!!! If you’re planning a trip to SF go see James at Occidental! Made our whole weekend!
Great place for a cigar and scotch in the city. Friendly service and top selection with fair prices.
I was on a work trip this past week, and went to OCC twice to have a few drinks, and watch the NBA playoffs. This is a great spot and they have a great selection of cigars. You can also order food next door! Definitely will be back on my next work trip!
