we are here several times and always like the consistent quality of food, service and drinks. Eating options are typical pub/brewery, whose pastrami is one of the highlights. a little bit is that I wish they had more healthier decisions, but that's okay. her beer selection is huge with some on draft (this changes every time we come) and a large selection of bottles and doses. service is always attentive and friendly.... What MelissaS doesn't like about The Refuge San Mateo:
We were a larger party with kids so I understand. However, it wasn't busy at all and the food was not at the standard of the San Carlos location. I loved the larger restaurant and outside seating area. I was surprised for a Sunday at lunch during the holidays it wasn't busier. I may be back here in the future but my preference is the San Carlos location. View all feedback.
Came for a quick dinner with one of my coworkers. The service was fast and spot on. Food was really good. Very pleasant experience. Would recommend.
