Not sure why there are some really negative reviews. We found the service to be excellent, friendly and engaging. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even though we had no booking. The food was fabulous. I had the hot prawns, the melt in the mouth lamb and cheesy cheesecake. What Davidson H doesn't like about Alderdi-zahar:
Conveniently located in the old city in San Sebastián, this restaurant offers both pintxos and a prix fixe menu. We tried the Zahar menu and found it relatively creative with a few tasty appetizers and entrees but some of the dishes were excessively salty. The wine list is decent but not great.
