I wasn't impressed with the food or service here. I agree that the set menu is reasonable but after the starter my main was completely forgotten about. We were a party of four diners. We arrived at around 9.30 pm and were promptly seated in the rustic restaurant area upstairs even though the bar downstairs was already closed. We were given the menu for a three-course meal including some wine, dessert and a coffee for 25€ per person. As we're vegan, the pleasant owner pointed out the two available vegan meals as well as the vegan desserts. The food arrived very quickly. The chickpea curry was fantastic, the dessert very light and fruit-based (the doughy part of the dessert had to be removed because it wasn't vegan). Since we only had a part of the three-course menu and half a bottle of wine, we were only charged 30€ in total, which we appreciated. There were other guests having a romantic dinner and a little celebration, respectively, and all of them seemed to have a good time.
I wasn't impressed with the food or service here. I agree that the set menu is reasonable but after the starter my main was completely forgotten about. We were a party of four diners. After the starters, three main meals were brought out and the fourth (mine) didn't arrive until about 15 to 20 minutes after and only after one of our friends asked the waitress where it was. I ordered the roast chicken which looked, felt and tasted as though it had been nuked in the microwave so after removing all of the hard bits, I wasn't left with much chicken meat. The dessert was ok. I personally wouldn't come here again.
The food was fabulous. Menu del dia. Such a lovely welcome and service. And perfectly maintaining the hidden gem of Old Town culture.
Great gastronomic proposal at a very good price! great team! we will return safely, we have been delighted!
For the modest price of € you can eat a menu of the day, which in the elaboration, presentation and quality, you could well eat it in an a la carte restaurant, for the minimum double. the waitress who attended us, I believe that the owner, all sympathy and attended us terribly until he sat us at the dining table on the top. There we were treated by a super maja and efficient chavala, which can first make you believe that for his youth he has no boards and management but if , very maja. so a place perfectly located in the old part of donosti, which in this voragine of restaurants with star some do not need it. I ate a puding of merluza that was amazing in terms of flavor and texture, accompanied by some amazing spinach, lettuce and onion leaves. and even if I changed the order of second I ate a cod rice, which we go, snore with its crunchy toasted skin, which some would include in their letter if they could. the dessert, a cheesecake, which seemed to me to have a spectacular touch of blue cheese, which is already well to eat cheesecakes with flavor !????flan, soufle or anything else. In order for a discovery, I will not hesitate to come back as soon as possible. thanks to the restaurant team for everything
