The staff could not be more unfriendly. They spare your life when they serve you. Not a smile, not a Thank you. They throw you the ticket and they don't even tell you how much it is. "We were five people, ordered three “steak iberico” and one paella with vegetables (for two people). Unfortunately it took them over 60min to deliver the food to our table. We were starving and nobody cared till we asked them. As we got the food, one of us got french fries to the steak, instead of the potatoes we ordered. To bring it without us letting now felt unprofessional, but we were cool with it. I had the paella, wasn’t my best yet. The amount was enough for two people, even when it’s a bit too salty for our taste. The white wine was good. As dessert I ordered panna cotta, it took them 20min for it, although the restaurant was already quite empty. As I got it, it was looking good. Unfortunately, they left some kiwi peel on the fruit. For a dessert of 6€ (which is a lot, compared to the cusine in Berlin) I expect something better. In the end I can recommend the food, but they took a bit long and didn’t let us know why. Was kinda unfortunate service, for their menu prices. I’ll rate them with 3.5 stars. We may visit them again."

"Have quite high expectation before coming because it has a high standing in Campos. We chose to be seated in the garden. We ordered the tasting menu for two persons. I rarely rated a restaurant below average, because I normally check the restaurant review before going. The problem with Tess de Mar is multiples. Of the 2 starters and 3 main courses, there are a total of 7 items, four of them are raw. It is not a sushi restaurant. Normally you do not expect at a fine dining restaurant’s tasting menu would provide a majority of raw dishes, though the weather is hot. The raw dishes include beef tartar, shrimp tartar, tuna tartar, and a rock oyster. Majority of the dishes are good except the chicken on rice, where the rice was undercooked. I have informed the restaurant that my partner is gluten free when booking. All going well except that at the second dessert the restaurant forgot and brought in gluten dessert. When the restaurant changed the dessert, it was almost identical to the first dessert. After a round of exchange of opinion, the restaurant brought to us a plate of fruit. After the dinner and back to the hotel, I have to eat some biscuits, because I am hungry. Yes, after a fine dining dinner, I still feel hungry. I do not have a big stomach and we are not the exceptional case. The couple sitting next to us also reflected that the portion was way too small, though they have a la cart dishes. That the portion was small was consistent across all dishes. I telephoned the restaurant the day prior to my dinner to confirm my booking. I asked the hotel about parking. The restaurant told me there is no parking inside the hotel but I can park in front of the hotel along the street. On the day we were driving to the hotel, some major roads were closed due to some event held in the town centre. I believe with such event the restaurant should have known before hand, but it did not inform me about the road closure that caught me with surprise. Over all it was not a nice experience at Tess de Mar."
