Classic L.A. Mexican food. El Cholo has been a favorite for years and I've been there dozens of times for working lunches, friendly get togethers and family dinners. The food is consistently good and never disappointing. If I ever had to complain about anything, it would be the crowds of people trying to get in but that's usually what happens when something is good. View all feedback.

Let me begin with the service since it was the only thing that was great, the staff is very friendly and attentive. I had a long time without visiting this restaurant. It has gone downhill. There was a bad smell, like sewer, musty. The service was fast, so we were in and out fast. The food was not great, nothing like I remember.
