"People, product place: the three P’s that are important to us in a business that we support. Santa Ynez Kitchen hits the mark in all three. From approaching the front door, to leaving at the end of our meal and every contact between is always excellent. They are professional while being friendly. If you have been there before, they probably remember what you like but always offer alternatives. Excellent staff throughout. Their product, food and drink, have always been excellent in taste and presentation. Something to please your palate and they are responsive to many food sensitivities. I am gluten sensitive and there is always several choices. And the place: very nice. Dine inside, on one of two patios or the covered and enclosed porch, it is always comfortable and pleasant. One of the best restaurants in the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara County. We have never been disappointed."

"What a fantastic experience we started with a shrimp caesar salad, very fresh, perfectly dressed and delicious shrimps. For our main course we had roasted chickens and short ribs. Both were cooked for perfection, and the potatoes with the short rib had little tasty pig sheds. Very friendly and attentive staff; I highly recommend eating here."

"Was given the wrong order at take out, had to ask for utensils and napkins, asked to have dressing for salad on the side but it wasn't, shrimp fettuccine was dry and the shrimp were puny (was looking forward to the large shrimp pictured in Google photos), salmon was small and slightly over cooked with very little veggies. Second time ordering here, first time was better but not sure I'll go again if it's not consistently good!"

"Ellen is without equality. This is the best breakfast place between S.F. and L.A. The tiny Danish pancakes and Danish sausages with perfectly cooked eggs are phenomenal and no one - that's no one - goes to Ellen's without tasting the apple smoked bacon with 90 percent lean meat!!!"
