"I spent a lot of time giving TripAdvisor an edit, as to the correct location of this great little empanada stand in the popular Zona Rosa area of Medellin. I’ve done this with so many establishments TripAdvisor usually ignores the corrected edits. So, you cannot depend on TripAdvisor’s maps to lead you to the right location in so many places of the world. TripAdvisor can’t say that they publish information given by their users because I’ve given them the correct information on so many establishments and it goes unnoticed. I hope you can find El Machetico because it’s a great spot where locals hang out and enjoy their empanadas a drink. There’s no seating and it’s simply an open faced store front on the sidewalk, kind of like going up to a food truck ordering your food. However, people stand at the counter here and eat their food. There’s a whole group of establishments like El Machetico on this particular street. So, I’d recommend this street alone for getting a local feel of how people casually grab a snack or have an inexpensive meal. These are not fancy food places. But these are local haunts that depend on return loyalty from the Paisa community. In particular, El Machetico has great emanadas, it’s clean, fast friendly. The street (Calle 9) is a fun place you get a feel of how the locals eat socialize -while at their most casual. I’ll tell you how to find this place since the TripAdvisor map is useless misguiding. You can walk from Parque El Poblado toward Parque Llearas on Calle 9. This little place is located just across the street from Parque El Poblano, between Carrera 43 (also called Avenida El Poblado) Carrera 42. It’s very easy to find if you like empanadas like most people do, you’ll be happy you found yourself here!"
