"The food is fantastic and the service is very good; definitely a cut above the service just about anywhere else in France. BE SURE to get reservations in advance, as they were booked for the full week we were here; we only got in because there was a cancellation. We recommended the “Menu Gourmand” with 4 courses for a delightful evening of fine dining. My partner, who must eat gluten-free, easily and seamlessly ordered food without worry about what she could have. You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine at La Belle Etoile!"

"Quiet small place from the lively towards the city. beautiful terrace. excellent eating. I had to whistle and frit for a main dish that were perfect. my friend had a goat cheese and tomatenhaupt, who had the masterstroke of eis in the middle... it was great. although a limited weinliste was it a good service and very reasonable prices."

"We go to this restaurant every time we come to Sarlat which is my childhood city. The price is very reasonable for the large quantity in the plates, the atmosphere is top and the impeccable service. A mother as beautiful as kind and her very nice daughter. Cheese is of exceptional quality. Thank you for this moment suspended every time."

"Been there today to ask for a table! Unfortunately the waiter was not just very unfriendly telling me there aren’t any tables left but he also left us with that arrogant look! What I did not understand was the idea of at least ten empty...tables outside and even more inside! Why didn’t he even pretend to look and check.... anyway, won’t try it again! Not even for a free meal. They should have in mind the city is full of other restaurants offering much better meal deals! And i am sure the quality does not differ that much I saw the waiter!!!"

"We’ve been on holiday in France for over 10 days, we have always received good service, with well cooked food and tipped every restaurant 10% on each visit based on our experience. Food was ok here but the attitude from one of the Waiters was clearly anti British, we weren’t given a choice of how our burgers were to be cooked, or offered any sauces. We also witnessed other English Tourists been told no tables were available when they asked about seating outside, with no option to seat inside French Tourists were offered tables inside and offered sauces. The second waiter on duty on the night was pleasant and welcoming. It’s a shame this was our last night in France, we kept our own tip and spent it on desert elsewhere, and recommend other English Tourists dine else where and you deserve to be treated better than this. When we return to Sarlat we’ll use the restaurant down the road towards the ice cream shop, unfortunately this was closed on this last visit we had to the town."
