Expensive compared to the quality of food. Sloppy service. Too many smokers around the table. Definitely this is NOT the best place to eat in Sarlat.

"I'd booked this for our first night in Sarlat and once we found it I'm easily confused in medieval pedestrian areas we had a terrific experience. Mirandol looks and feels right, and the waiters were friendly. We tried different foie gras which...is really fun as they vary from chilled, pale, and solid to warmed in a liquid (my favorite is balsamic vinegar) and tender like scrambled egg. The restaurant was full, but we chose our speed for eating (slowly). The wine recommendations were really good. After our very filling repast, we checked out the cave in the back. It was really neat now I want a house where the back wall is a cave opening in rock."

"We went to this restaurant yesterday as a group of and sat outside on the terrace, which was very relaxing. The food was delicious and I just loved my entrée of foie gras crème brûlée with apples. Each mouthful was exquisite and I will...remember that dish for a very long time. I had the duck breast brochette with the traditional potato dish of the region accompanied by a lovely mixture of vegetables. Again, delicious and this was followed by walnut ice cream, a first for me. The service was excellent and the wine great. All up, a memorable experience and a highlight for our visit to this area."

"En se promenant dans Sarlat en famille, nous avons cherché un restaurant local pour le midi. En plein mois d'août a l'heure où les touristes (nous compris) se ruent sur les terrasses, cela paraissait compliqué. "Quiet small place from the lively towards the city. beautiful terrace. excellent eating. I had to whistle and frit for a main dish that were perfect. my friend had a goat cheese and tomatenhaupt, who had the masterstroke of eis in the middle... it was great. although a limited weinliste was it a good service and very reasonable prices."
