"We didn't know what to expect, and we were totally blown away from these guys. They have put together various appetizers for us, I had grilled tuna and tuna tar, which I think was spontaneously made by them, as I did not taste like other types of fish it perfectly. The quality of food overall seemed excellent, the wine they chose was amazing and the service was simply super beautiful and professional. Each course was an explosion and the money was absolutely worth it. Very recommended!"

"Decided to try something other than pasta pizza, although they are delicious. This is An Italian bar with Mexican theme? Men standing drinking round the bar whilst customers eat opposite. Made us feel uncomfortable, while eating our meal. The speed the food came to the table, indicates -microwave!! Starters mains arrived together, which was rather strange as none of the dishes were sharing dishes. We ate our chilli starter with our burgers. The experience very strange. Food Nothing special, nothing fresh, think it’s best to stick to the beautiful prepared Italian restaurant. However the restaurant was busy its probably a change for the locals, as international cuisine are few far between."

"Many local people told us that the traditional food of Sardinia is land-based (versus sea-based), and so my wife and I wanted to focus more on this traditional food, and consequently spent most of our time exploring the interior and the countryside. Of the many excellent small family-run restaurants that we found, Li Lioni was definitely one of the best. It is located quite off the beaten path, and has a nice relaxing setting on large grounds which you can stroll around in after eating. The owners were very friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout, and we actually went twice during our holiday, because the food was so good. On the first occasion, we ate Antipasto Misto, then Macaranoes di Busa con sugo di saccaya (fresh short pasta with mutton and herb sauce), then Vitella “abi abis” (roasted on branch) and Cinghiale in Umido (wild boar cooked in green olives white wine) with Cipolle Arrosto (roasted new onions). All of these dishes were very nicely presented and were incredibly flavourful. This restaurant is also a Panefrattauteria, for which there is an additional special menu. Pane Frattau is a regional dish made with the wafer thin Sardinian bread, Pane carasau, tomato sauce, pecorino cheese, and an egg on top. This dish is not to be missed. On the second occasion, we ate Pane Frattau with eggplant, then Piccoli Gnocchi alla Li Lioni (extra small gnocchi), then Salsicccie Arrosto (rustic style roast sausages), then Ricotta Fresca con Miele (fresh sheep ricotta with local honey). All of these dishes, as on the first occasion, tasted so fresh and had such carefully seasoned ingredients, that you know the chef is especially skilled. If this ricotta is available, it must be tried, as it was the best we have ever had. The restaurant also has a good selection of Sardinian bottled wines as well as an impressive house wine. The smaller dining room at the front, where we sat, is very relaxing, with a view of the trees outside. Overall, this is one of the restaurants that you will never forget, and always long to return to."
