"The Champagne genevoise keeps its little secrets, even after 34 years. So great to discover, last night, the Café du Levant, where Stéphane Taffonneau runs a delicate, delicious and generous kitchen. A cuisine de saison. In a setting of understated chique, we had: a wonderful lobsterstarter with a touch of cherry coulis and mashed green peas, prawns in a sauce of citrus and a green salad, to start. We then moved on to the succulent canette and juicy filets of rougette with stuffed courgette flowers. Dessert consisted of a trio of crème brulèe (the mystery flavour turned out to be strawberries and basil), and wonder ful dishes based on cherries and on aprocots, respectively. A memorable evening indeed!"
