I found that this lodging-restaurant was the best in saugues. a smiling welcome, an excellent couscous and a peaceful terrace.

"A converted old school provides an very pleasant backdrop to this excellent restaurant. The owner Jean, who also does the front of house service offers a selection of freshly prepared French dishes on his menu. We visited for lunch and enjoyed the set three course menu which is usual during lunchtime. Despite being the only waiter, Jean manages to make each customer feel welcome whether they were returnees or first time visitors. The weather was hot and sunny so we sat outside in what was originally the playground. What was noticeable was that the seating was spread so that there was plenty of space between the tables. If you visit, and I would recommend it, make sure, if you are seated outside, to look at the inside seating area, it's very quirky, the place mats are old vinyl LPs."

"We stopped here for brunch whilst on the Chemin Saint Jacques. The owner was truly lovely, he couldn't have been more helpful. We ordered 2 ham baguettes, which came with lettuce and onion jam inside, they were absolutely huge and delicious. He cut them in half for us and then gave us tin foil to wrap them, so they gave us a picnic too!"

"With 2 adults and 2 teens we had a great diner this evening. Although the staff didn’t speak that much English they we’re very helpful and willing to explain. Food was very good and a very good value of money. Good use of different ingredients and some surprising elements made it a great diner for us. I guess it’s French but the courses come quit quick, not bad but as real Dutch people we are used to a little bit more time in between."
