What Lammyfire doesn't like about Duke Of York:
Used to be a really great pub but we went last night (19th Jan 24) and all four meals were poor. Nothing like the description in the menu. It turns out glazed veg is tinned peas, no chicken hardly in the chicken pie and tiny portion sizes. I'm sure you get the drift. As for cleanliness View all feedback.
Whitby is my favorite place..and I have to say that the duke of york is my favorite place to visit while in Whitby..
Old secular pub with rooms and eating, river and sea view. good menu, many made to home eat up to 9.30 clock open fire, cozy atmosphere, pleasant staff. the hotel is located under the abbey steps along the paved roads.
Fab place have visited n stayed here for years ! Best fish n chips in Whitby n crab salad to die for
Goth weekend....very very busy...but staff were courteous.. ..and food excellant....without a doubt recommend it to anyone x
Love this pub in Whitby...really nice atmosphere and great views out over the harbour...staff are nice and efficient...can be very busy tho but worth going
