The young girl serving was very rude, blunt, no manners or customer service training. She talked over you and even told my little girl that she couldn’t have chip spice on her chips unless we bought a whole tub. We’re in Yorkshire!!!! No where else in Yorkshire doesn’t have chip spice on their counter! She asked the lady behind us “what do you want” instead of asking politely. Chips were average, fish was nothing spe... read moreWhile Captains Table has garnered some positive praise for its crispy fish and chips under new ownership, recent customer experiences reveal a stark contrast in service quality. Diners report delightful meals, including fresh haddock at reasonable prices, though others lament rude staff interactions and a sense of being unwelcomed. Consistent complaints highlight inattentive employees more focused on their phones than on patrons, alongside bland menu items that disappoint. The establishment's charm seems overshadowed by service shortcomings. Nevertheless, die-hard fans still recommend supporting local chippies, leaving Captains Table at a crucial crossroads between tradition and improvement.
