I recently discovered this cafe while traveling from Sleights to Whitby. I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and welcoming atmosphere, excellent staff, and high-quality food. I was also excited to learn that there is another branch of this cafe at Selby Garden Centre in Osgodby near Selby, which is only 6 miles away from where I live. I will definitely be visiting soon. What Deano R doesn't like about Victoria Farm Garden Centre Cafe:
The Sunday dinner was terrible. The frozen vegetables were soggy, the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and tasted like egg, and the roasties were burnt. The chicken was frozen and overcooked, and overall, it was not worth the price we paid. We will not be returning as there are better places with fresh vegetables and high-quality meat. The gravy was thin and tasted disgusting. View all feedback.
My friend and I visited this charming garden center last Sunday. The staff was friendly and the view was beautiful. I ordered the beef and my friend had the gammon. The beef was cooked perfectly and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the gammon. The mashed potatoes were delicious as well. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant, as it offers great value for the price.
We live locally so have been a few times its usually a bit hit and miss most often miss.Today my husband ordered the regular haddock and chips and I ordered the ploughmans lunch fish was tiny hardly any chips ploughmans lunch was a plate full of salad a tiny pork pie and a bowl of cheese with three pickled onion on the side I asked the waitress if there shouldnt be a slice of ham with the ploughmans lunch she said she had prepared it and no there shouldnt . She was rude not one of the staff in there have got a people skill between them . Loads of nice places in Whitby dont waste your time or money here we wont be going back
This is the first place we always call in on our annual trip to Whitby and up until now we have loved it, unfortunately they seem to have changed suppliers as the food was disappointing. They always had Bothams scones and bakewell slice and a Fords sausage roll but these are no longer available. I showed willing and ordered the Stonehouse bakery scone and it was dry and I struggled to eat it. My husband had the lemon drizzle cake and said the same thing. They no longer sell Fords products and did not fancy the look of the Radfords savoury products. We will still continue to call here on the way to our holiday cottage but we will be avoiding the bakery products unless the suppliers change.
We came for Sunday lunch, but decided on a chicken burger that my husband said was lovely and duck hoisin wrap which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chips were disappointing, soggy and not up to their usual standard. I love the coleslaw, homemade and not swimming in mayonnaise. For some reason the service at the till was very slow today, maybe a second person making drinks might have helped. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will return.
