Ordered the “Cheese Crisp with green onions” and then I have pages of pico, acid cream and guacamole to make it extra special. The crunch was not quite as “fried” as other versions I had, but it was very good! This appetizer is slightly over 12 inch size and was more meal than I could eat. Warm chips and two types of salsa served with the meal. Super fast and friendly service! *Note* Parking is back when you are out... View all feedback.
What Wavy B doesn't like about La Fonda Del Sol:
I really don't care what they want. It says service charge, not credit card fee, for a reason. It's a charge we have chosen to add for all payments, not just credit cards. As restaurant owners we can charge for what we want. I let you guys take off the fee at your discretion and tell people it's a card fee, but we don't have to do that. It is a charge for all payments. The service was great and the ambiance is good. The food was pretty solid. I had a taco and enchilada combination and would give it a 3/5.
Hello I am from California, and I have been planning to come to this restaurant since I found it here on instagram. We are out here in Arizona picking up our son from college. Upon arriving everything was good. It was a family size of 8 we got seated in a very tight area but it was fine we made due. We had 1 baby and 1 toddler with us. We sat down. There was a large party next to us and a family behind us. Whole restaurant was packed. Everyone around us was getting served. Waiters and waitresses were asking if they needed anything else to all parties around us. As we sat there 10 mins then 15 mins still, no one came to our table to greet us, get us water, or even tell us they will be right with us. They all just kept looking at us. I had to get up and ask if anyone is going to serve us. They looked and acted offended for asking if we were going to get help. As I returned to the table they were all chatting about us. It was absolutely embarrassing. We all made the decision to get up quietly and leave. As I was walking out I let the server know we will be leaving. The waitress with all the tattoos on her face said out loud good I'm glad you're leaving. I am baffled as to what just happened and can't believe our family was treated this way. As we all left and upset we couldn't help be notice we were the only family in the building that were brown and was very noticeable we were the only table that wasn't help. Never in our life have we experienced that. They don't even deserve a 1 star. Never again.
La Fonda Del Sol is the only truly authentic Mexican restaurant I've been to in Scottsdale. I've been to their old location prior, their new location is noticeably bigger. Good for them because it was poppin on Saturday night. I ordered the beef enchiladas Christmas style red and green sauce. It was incredibly delicious but I must admit, super heavy. The plate came out super hot, and everything on the plate seemed to melt together and the flavors exploded. Make sure you come to La Fonda Del Sol with an empty stomach.

At the end of the day we can and will run our business how we want to. I don't need you to tell me how to run our business. You are an employee and this is part of the job. Poor, poor business practice to charge a 5% payment processing charge, not disclose on the menu and then state it can only be removed if I pay cash. That means even those folks paying cash would be charged this fee if they didn't say something. Restaurants only pay 1.5-3.5% in credit card fees, so 5% still feels wrong. Also, while minimally discrepant, the prices on the bill and menu are off. To the owners, you're really doing a disservice to your servers by not posting or incorporating into your menu prices, as many people will likely recoup the money in some fashion. Such a shame because your staff is lovely, but you're taking money from their pockets.
