"Flat iron steak was good but not great, needed more tenderising and seasoning. The rocket salad had a nice dressing and the chips were very good. Service was good, but food took a while to come."

"Original take on Indian food, more on the fine dinning side. We got the Diwali feast and oh boy it was a feast. All dishes were flavoursome but refined. Our favourite, the chicken skin. Service is great, attentive and kind. The place is gorgeous. People are a bit loud but it makes sense given that it’s a sports bar as well. A bit pricey but it’s totally worth it."

"Chez Elles is definitely worth a visit if you’re around Brick Lane or Spitalfields – a delicious, kitschy gem hidden among the sea of curry houses. We stopped in on our way to a concert at the All Saint’s Church in Spitalfields (the Camden Symphony Orchestra – they’re playing Handel’s Messiah next) for a quick bite. Chez Elles were able to accommodate the six of us at 6pm, but we were told the table was booked from half eight."

"I have booked my partner and I for new years eve in cote covent garden. at the arrival we sat on a table for 2, which was in the middle, where all of the employees rushed to other customers. early signs were not good. we then waited about 40 minutes to serve. in the 40 minutes we asked for drinks and eating twice, but nobody seemed interested in our table. there were waiting employees actually looking and walking around our table, but still nobody takes our order. we finally managed to get some drinks, but at this point we were frustrated with the evening so we asked the bill for the drinks without additional service. then the general manager came to our table to save the evening. they guaranteed to serve our table personally, so we gave the advantage of the doubt and remained. the food itself was really good, but the evening was spoiled with persistent bad service at points and we were offered nothing in the opposite way. to our unbelievable service fee was added to the bill at the end of the night, it was actually a relief to get out of the place to the end that is disappointing. it would not recommend to book here at a busy evening as they wait for a considerable training on table (it was waiting from the door) and the employees need a considerable training."

"We were a party of 8 and booked early as we had two children aged 10 and 12. We had to wait over an hour until the main courses arrived 2 hours after our order. When we asked by the waiter whether our main courses were coming, as the children had not eaten (as we did not give up a master lesson and theoretical pudding), we were told that the order was created, which did not make much sense, especially as diners who were served half one after us. I know bigger parties are more difficult, but that was a bad service. When the main courses arrived, they came out at different times and the servers gave the members of our party the wrong steaks, as the food came out all at different times, we couldn't change this because the cuts were similar and it was only obvious when the second batch arrived. The food was very delicious. Endpoint on the servers when he asked for a second time whether the food was on the way the setting was defensive and not apologetic, even if the server felt under pressure, they should be polite as we were when we asked. It was a shame that a mighty evening left an acidic taste."
