"I stayed at the Sanctuary for a day, and ate regularly at the restaurant. Despite the fact that they advertise themselves as a Vegetarian and seafood restaurant I had mixed experiences in getting vegan food. Some breakfast and desert options are marked vegan on the menu. I had a nice mixed grain porridge just before leaving, for example. Main courses, though, are not marked. One senior member of staff was very understanding and helpful she stood with the chef during cooking to make sure no mistakes were made. At the other end of the scale, another staff member abruptly ended a conversation by saying that they could not help me and maybe I should have a salad. On another positive note, I left my laptop sleeve and the staff very kindly posted it on. When they are helpful, they are very helpful. The food, once I got it, was good. I had a curry and some snacks. The juices were fantastic. But I was in an expensive (for Thailand) holistic detox resort which advertised a vegetarian restaurant, and had not expected it to sometimes require, say, the patience of an omnivorous restaurant."

"I ate here a couple of times during my stay at the Summer Luxury Resort. I am vegan so I didn 't order any of the dishes containing meat, seafood, eggs and milk of any sort which make up almost all of the menu (as it seems to be common in Thailand). From what I could see though they were all nicely presented and seemed to be generally liked. There are only a handful of vegan options on the menu including fried rice with vegetables (didn 't try), Indian fried curry served in a pineapple (good but a bit too sweet for my liking and a lot of raisins) and Spaghetti Napolitana (served with Parmesan, not bad but very small portion and far too expensive). However you can order some other menu items and ask for them to be prepared without milk eggs (e.g. Curries) and the staff is happy to comply once they understand what you mean. My mother once just asked for mixed cooked vegetables with soy sauce on rice and was happy with the result. The decor and music (a mix of Jazz, Classical and Downtempo-covers of Pop songs Oo) are nice and you have a great seaview outside, however the menus are really annoying as they are printed on HUGE 1cm thick cardboard and are very awkward to hold. This is just not up to the high standard the Restaurant is trying to portrait and should be an easy fix. Overall just a last resort to me but okay if you don 't want to leave the resort. More vegan options would be great, especially since the island has a reputation for it 's vegan yogi scene. I can recommend the small Food Station which is just 5 minutes away on foot. Just walk right once you get to the road, it 's on the right side and usually has some Pizza Calzone on display in front of the restaurant Has some great, cheap vegan options and you can also ask for other dishes to be prepared vegan."

"A great view. not so clean. a bit min drive from stringsala pier. just a few minutes walk from the beach leela. or just a few minutes to walk from the beach rin (vollmond party beach). it has a Sky bar with a fantastic view and good food and drinks. few minutes walk from shops, bars restaurant. they can arrange a taxi to take them wherever they want, if they are not enough, as all go up and down."

"We were for two nights for the full moon party and can only say good things. The food was also great and good portions! Our room was practically on the beach and we could the Kayak, that was great fun! Andy and his employees were all very friendly and Andy could give us recommendations and help us! It is a fantastic place to say, there is a very steep hill that taxis do not like to come down and is a hard walk up, but Andy has told us a very useful jungle torn through the hill!"
