"My wife and I entered into the cafe with our 2 children to purchase hot beverages and some snacks for the kids. My initial impresssion was that the cafe was dated and not the cleanest in town. My cleanliness concerns were confirmed as I made the unfortunate mistake of going into the restroom . As I returned from the men's room, the server promptly approached our table and in an unpleasant tone asked if we would like to order. My wife mentioned that were were undecided and would like a few minutes to make our decision. At his point, the server refused to remove herself from our table and insisted that we place our order. At first, my wife and I thought she was kidding until the situation became awkward. I was completely bewildered by this cafes behaviour especially considering there were 2 young children present as the server became confrontational. Not comfortable with the situation I removed my family from the Cafe and walked to a competing business 2 doors doors where we were welcomed. Regrettably, this cafe is inconsistent with the charm and beauty of Old Montreal. My family and I have travelled many destinations and have visited many restaurant and cafes along the way. I have yet to expererience such poor customer service and would not recommend this cafe"

"These cupcakes are so good! I stop by the shop in Old Port every chance I get, and when I'm in the area. They have many great flavors and I've had amazing service every time. They also offer a small cupboard handle if you need to carry your cupcakes home ?"

"A charming small restaurant with a fantastic team and delicious menu. We were a group of five, came in for a brunch on a Sunday morning. We were lucky enough not to wait long in the cold to get our table, but the restaurant can easily be full and the line would be long. I chose the set menu of egg poutine, served with fresh juice and fruits. I was told the food here is good, but this simple plate was really delicious. The waitresses were friendly, took and served our orders perfectly, and made few smart recommendations. Montreal has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants, but I would visit Empoteuse over and over again."

"I found this restaurant yesterday. I just ordered two dishes and tried bark meat les garçon and pad thai . wow, so surprised! the taste is authentic, the ingredients are exquisite, the great garnel, and the extremely delicate bark meat that is bark like “filet mignon”. I don't have to say, if you've never been before, just order these two dishes and try them first, and you'll know if what I said is true or wrong."

"Les plats sont classiques mais bons (nous avons pris sandwich et salade) et pas excessifs.Accueil chaleureux, la serveuse a même fait faire une ratatouille en cuisine pour notre bébé :-)Le cadre est sympathique et nous étions au calme. Bref, adresse à recommander."

"We went or time and every time it was great! we mostly went for drinks and cheese plate and we were amazed! as much as I loved the cheese, the cold meat and the drinks, I have a little one reserved on some of the kocottes. they were good, but I think they could be more tasteful. however, I recommand this place in a heartbeat for a fun evening with friend."
