"I am pleased to say that my assessment is in sharp contrast to that of the previous reviewer. as it happens, I've never been in this pub before, although I've lived in a distance for over 20 years. not only do I not know the owner, but I even started to swear that I hate the people who call me madam. the poor guy, how should he know? and then he was in order. we had lunch there. two toasties and a sandwich, with sweet potato friars on the side. a pub lunch, simple and simple. Except that it went beyond my expectations and was absolutely delicious, prove once again that good ingredients, well prepared, make the best eat. now we eat a lot, sometimes twice a day, but we couldn't manage the dinner after our impromptu lunchtimestoasties. it was such a tasty to go to a real pub that even ensured that no music of any kind required by our animal professor. nothing makes my nase fold faster than the label gastro pub (especially it often means over price and under good we are hard pressed to usually find, and find that this was well done manna (or toastia from heaven. many thanks for their hospitality, press them further, we would like to return:"

"Not locally to witney we were not aware of the hand and the shears until it was recommended to us for lunch when we were in the opposite on a cold winter day. quiet there, half this afternoon, and they placed us through the log burner who kept us very tortured. I had chicken and leckagepis and my wife had a sausage sandwich so that she would also have a place for apron pain and pumpkin. everything was really skurril, including the chips that were about the best we ever had. the torte was homemade and very fleshy, the brot of the sandwiches of my wife was also homemade and surprisingly very light. may they be back in the opposite, so soon they want to fall into dinner, we discover lobster on the menu can not wait. ps the sausage sandwich was actually quite filling out so I had to help my wife with the apple crumb, also quite fab."

"Usually very happy with Como Lounge, but not yesterday. My husband and I went with an Enrych group, which organises events for disabled people. We ordered our meal first as needed to be home by 2pm, and the others shortly afterwards. No mention was made of a long wait for food. After 40 mins I enquired as to where our food was, and was told they were very busy and it would be 10 mins. After another 15 mins I went to the bar to cancel our order as we had to get home, but at that point the food arrived, so we stayed. I commented that customers should be told if there was such a long delay and the waitress just shrugged and said they hadn't known when we ordered that it would be that long. No apology. The food wasn't up to its usual standard, very poor in fact. When we left, others in our group were queuing for a refund as still no food. A very bad experience, won't be going back."

"We should have turned around and came straight out. All the clues were there; 2 customers in the bar, 6 in the restaurant. This was 7 o 'clock on a Saturday evening. Nobody to greet us, freezing cold throughout but we stuck it out thinking it can 't be that bad. Unfortunately it didn 't get any better. The locals have obviously wisened up to it as only another four arrived in the time that we were there (til about 9). To be fair the food was ok, albeit overpriced for the venue. But if you want to make a success of a venue it needs to be welcoming and warm. If there had been even a simple wood-burning fire with a few spiced woodchips thrown in it would have made a world of difference. As it was we had to get our coats from the car for the entire duration of the meal. We couldn 't help but note the coffee machine behind the bar with a towel thrown over it that seemed to say we 're closing down . So, freezing cold and unwelcoming. We won 't go back again."
