"The tacos are delicious: beautiful flavors. Always a hit. The one miss: the Churro Chimichanga no flavor. My worry was itd be too sweet/ sugary, but it was bland. Doesn't taste like a churro at all. Very disappointed"

"Wow! What a fantastic dinner. Had the special salad with cantaloupe, feta, walnuts and figs great taste. The lobster ravioli was the best I ever had. Finished with a homemade Cannoli light as a feather and filled with creamy delicacies. A five-star experience! We'll be back."

"Best Thai food ever!!! We come here whenever we drive by Salinas we always eat everything up between 2 adults and 1 kid. Restaurant manager chef is a lovely woman, with a kind smile she came out to check how the food was and clearly made the foodwith love. We've had Thai food around the world, inluding in Thailand and even though we always default to our kid's favouritesweet n sour fish, this is one of the best in California! ? Must try if you're in Salinas! ?????"

"I've had a slice of their pizza before but it wasn't right out of the oven. Today I had their slices out of the oven and they are great. A little chewy but the closet I've tasted for New York style pizza. Crisp outer crust and nice sauce. I will be back for a whole pizza. Highly recommend The Oven."

"My family and I decided to try out Michelle's because we have not had good soul food for a long time. We ordered fried catfish, fried pork chops, side orders of mac n cheese, collard greens, sweet corn with bacon, and red beans over rice. The catfish was delicious and perfectly seasoned, not overly battered and not over cooked, but just right. The pork chops was yummy, was not over cooked, and was not overly seasoned, and had a really good taste to it. Collard greens, I don't normally order it but had a taste of it, and so far it's the best I've had. The sweet corn with bacon, definitely a different twist to add bacon, perfect match for sweet and salty which was a good combination, one take away was that it was on the watery side. The red beans and rice was normal like I've had at other places, so no complaints. Did not get a chance to taste the Mac n cheese because my son devoured it before I thought of trying it.Michelle was very sweet to let us try something new to the menu...sausage, bell peppers and onions over rice and definitely will be a good add to the menu, has a little kick of spice and would definitely recommend it. We also had the opportunity of tasting Michelle's cornbread...OMG it's yummy! You don't need butter or honey because it's perfect the way it is. And because she gave us the edges that had bits of crust, made a whole new meaning to cornbread. It was like having desert at the same time with my meal. Let me tell you...I'm not a fan of cornbread but I am a fan of Michelle's cornbread and would definitely order it again without hesitation. If we plan to visit Monterey in future I will definitely look her up because I really want to try her Oxtail and smothered pork chops. Very good soul food is hard to find and I've just found one in Monterey!The place is like a hole in the wall but don't let that discourage you from trying the food. Michelle definitely added love in her cooking that kept me focused on the food and blanket my surroundings. Last thing to add is the beautiful woman that took our order and catered to us, had a cute and sweet personality that made the perfect night"

"Chopstix has two locations: Monterey and Seaside. This review is for the location by the sea. As it turns out, the “vegan” items on the menu are not vegan! I checked over the oyster sauce in her fried tofu rays and other things. The server checks and let you know the sauce it is filled and has animal derivatives and there is no way to make food without it. This means that all rice plates that stir roasted tofu or something like that marked with “vegan” are NOT vegan because they use this special sauce on all. Then she told me that only VEGAN ITEMS ARE VEGGIE SOUPS! I asked why are things that are vegan marked when they aren't?? She could not answer me and did not mention that to make the right / the menu. Photos below are NOT VEGAN, turns out. 3 SOUPS ON “VEGAN” MENU the only really vegan items. Updated by previous review on 2021-11"
