Born and raised in Los Angeles/San Diego, recent Seattle transplant. I can honestly say Chukis has the best tacos I 've had in Seattle, so far. What Philip Weiß doesn't like about Tacos Chukis:
They don’t serve any organ meats—let me emphasize, NO ORGAN MEATS! On top of that, the tortillas are quite bland, and they slather the tacos with guacamole, which I found unappealing. Overall, it’s just okay for what it is, but it falls far short of the amazing, authentic street tacos I was led to believe I would find. Not even close. Awesome! Some of the best tacos I’ve had and the price is unbeatable. Burritos are killer too
While it was fun due to the nature of the other guests who were very entertaining for some reason this establishment is filthy. And maybe they are going for a sense of genuine atmosphere because I really felt like I was in Tijuana in there. The lady at the cashier had a definite problem with English and maybe that was in keeping with that authentic thing I mentioned earlier. Frankly it's gross the food was okay rather standard there are many taco trucks around that are superior to it. It is not a place I would go to twice not when there are so demonstratively Superior establishments around it. Food is delicious, affordable and authentic. Always a go to taco spot in Seattle. I appreciate the simplicity of the menu. Everything pictured in the photo was about $30 total.
