"This is a long overdue review. If you are planning to visit to Sedona, AZ be sure to make some time for Elote Cafe. Tip#1: Be sure to make your rezzy 3 months in advance through their website. Tip#2: If the seating is full you can order take out after 3 pm for pick up after 5pm. This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant but a first at their new location. There is a small parking lot on site but there is plenty of parking on the street and there are public lots nearby. The new location has a modern, hip hacienda feeling. The music is low in the background so your conversation will not be muffled. Our booth was open yet once seated, I felt the space was very cozy and intimate. Then, you are presented with chips and salsa. Initially I was disappointed because at our first visit we were provided with popcorn that had a hint of liquid smoke and was a phenomenal surprise. My dismay was short lived as the chips were epic!! They were light, crispy and very flavorful. Honestly the chips were truly very sensational and a good foreboding of better things to come. I had a margarita which was delicious and my beau had the libation del dia.We ordered the beet salad, Mexican corn (esquite), green corn tamale, braised pork cheeks, and a carne asada. The dishes came with a side of dirty rice and black beans. We definitely had some leftovers. (My pictures accidentally deleted so be sure to check out Mario U. 's review.)The meal was oh so delicioso and the service was muy bueno. I am certain we will be back. Tip#3: If you purchase an Elote Cafe cookbook, Exec. Chef and owner Jeff Schmedstad will be sure to sign it for you!"
