"We took two trains and a bus from Stuttgart and spent a night at Traube Tonbach in October just to eat at Schwarzwaldstube. It was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Chef Michel is a genius and deserves high praise. While no...single dish sticks out like the Lasagana at Osteria Francescana or the Caviar Eggs Benedict at Eleven Madison Park, every detail of every preparation was perfect. No needless attempts at being overly inventive just supreme quality ingredients prepared in perfect combinations in accordance with the same local tradition that was respected by Chef Wohlfarht. The location in the Black Forest is magical. The cheese cart is awesome. Service is extremely honest and professional. Chef walked around to greet each table towards the end of the evening as many high-profile chefs do but he did so in a very genuine, attentive way. Difficult to describe, but the humility of the restaurant despite its legendary status is striking. We were fortunate to make the pilgrimage here before the fire. What a special place. We will never forget that meal."

"That's what I wanted to have, and then, unfortunately, I slipped off to 4 stars, before. Ms. Rehfuß is a great, dedicated host and boss. Our eldest could make a 1a training in the deer (as a cook) and is now really appreciated in England! 2 years ago, we remember many thanks again and again and again and despite all the work a beautiful, blessed Christmas festival!"

"Yes, the food is exquisite and the views from high above this historic town are awesome but that's where it stops. Customer service is seriously lacking here and for all that this restaurant is food wise it lacks the same in nearly every other aspect. Again, I have to reiterate that the food is exceptional, but everyone already knows that and should expect that with a Michelin rated restaurant. My issue is that, as a local, I should be able to walk in on a week night and 9:30 pm and receive a warm welcome and at least an offer of a drink. We had an experience there recently where we may as well have been street beggars. We arrived on a weeknight at 9:30 and were met with a very unwelcoming attitude and they positively declined to serve us. Not even an offer of a drink. Moral of the story is that while everyone should be lucky enough to have a meal in this restaurant one day, don't forget to bring a healthy dose of humility and patience. The older service lady is gruff and borderline rude, it seems to the embarrassment of the younger service people, and one should expect nothing more than great food with a beautiful view, provided you're in the main dining room. And whatever you do, don't expect a warm welcome no matter how often you return or how much of your life savings you spend on your meals. No matter. Go down the street, as we did, to Gasthaus Sonne where the food is quite comparable. The bill will be less and the service without match. We always feel like family at the Sonne."

"Very nice atmosphere with modern looking and great cakes. Since we arrived in Freudenstadt and stayed for 4 days, everyday we paid a visit to this nice place. Very friendly attendees. Food is healthy, exquisite and tasty. Congratulations Zeitraum!!!! Next time I come to Freudenstadt I’ll come back to Zeitraum for sure!!"

"What a cozy and nice restaurant to enjoy coffee or a glass of red wine with a large piece of Schwarzwälder kirsch cake after a walk. Of course you can also eat here, but it was too early for that.
