As a vegan cyclist, we really appreciate this café. A few vegan sandwiches on All Bagels and charming T-shirts and bike equipment.

City: Alcúdia (near Selva), Calle Marisco 10, 07400, Alcúdia, Spain
"Apologies for a long review but this place deserves it and may come in handy for others looking to find the gems that are hidden in Alcudia amongst the plethora of burger and chips “steak houses” that greet you every few steps! Alcudia is in dire need of places like Sa Roqueta! We ate here because of trip advisor and google reviews, and I honestly have never seen a more consistently highly reviewed restaurant, even Michelins don’t garner scores like Hannah and Antonio have gained over the years, and they deserve all the love they receive. For starters, cod fish bites you can taste the sea, really fresh fish. They are a bit salty for those who are adverse or sensitive to salt but it wasn’t overpowering and will be a personal taste thing. I loved them as did the other person who had them. We also had the bread, breadsticks, balsamic and olive oil with sun dried tomatoes and olives. Every aspect of this was amazing the breadsticks were nothing like you’d buy in a UK supermarket, they were fluffy and flakey, the balsamic rich and thick, the sun dried tomatoes sweet and fantastic quality. I don’t like olives personally but those at the table who did said they were superb. I had the ossabuco de Milanese (braised veal with saffron risotto the best risotto we’ve ever had. The veal was outstanding. Paired with a bottle of their 2018 Barolo, pure perfection. For dessert I had the cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! Real cheese, almond crumble mixed in and black cherry, served in a glass. Clearly freshly made and not some frozen creation sliced up and defrosted at the beginning of service. The dessert wine they offer pairs very well with this cheesecake and is really nice, not the best but more than adequate (and less than 4 euros a glass! . There is a wine menu with other sweet wines if this is your thing, but we just tried the one on the main menu. Every wine and dish was introduced to the person being served, explaining where it was traditionally from in Italy, and in the case of wine, the wine growing house and how it was stored. From what I could tell and reading other reviews this small restaurant has two staff Chef Antonio and his wife Hannah front of house, working 7 days a week. Because of this they limit the tables they allow so as not to over do themselves, and you would do well to book a reservation, particularly if you are a group of 4 or more. What a lovely welcoming couple they are, Chef Antonio did appear a couple of times to say hello and check we were happy with the food, which is just unheard of in most restaurants. Hannah incredibly warm and welcoming, professional and polite. Clearly very proud and passionate people, and rightly so. The price is unbelievable. You would pay double if not triple if you bought this food, wine and service in London. Our 5 person bill came to 233 euros, and over half of that was because me and another person pushed the boat out and had some expensive wines. If you’re just a couple, you’ll have fantastic food and wine for a more than reasonable price. There is a small beer selection, this place is focused on wine as the name suggests, but you won’t find normal Peroni or Estrella on tap here. The usual selection of soft drinks are available coke/sprite/etc. 10/10 would recommend and I really wish Hannah and Antonio well for the future."
