This is love, everything is fresh! If it gets any fresher it’s alive! I feel great after eating this. Clean feel and portion is just right! I forgot the name of this one but it definitely has salmon in it! Their pastas are superb too! Try them all! To be honest I do feel that their food is priced on a higher end. Seafood is expensive. When you don’t mind to splurge sometimes, why not. View all feedback.
I come here at least once a month. The unagi and salmon is yummy and value for money. If you are not willing to pay above average prices for sashimi, this is your place. Looking forward to my next trip just by looking at the pics! And don't forget to order the breaded oysters
After hearing plenty of good things about The Fat Fish, it became one of the restaurants I wanted to eat at. But I had always deferred a visit because it’s hard to get in unless you have a reservation. Last weekend, I finally dropped by during an odd time – when it’s after lunch but too early for dinner.
Went there on two separate occasions. Had the salmon rice bowl and the crab aglio olio with my girlfriend during the first round. Crab aglio olio could've been better but the salmon rice bowl was.. pretty damn good.Second round had the spicy tuna handroll and the maguro don. Personally didn't enjoy the Don much but really liked the handroll!
The roasted chicken is magical! Very well prepared and marinated, the mashed potato and the greens drenched in balsamic vinegar compliments the scrumptious chicken. The sashimi platter is one of the best I've tasted. So fresh and tasty. Hats off to the chef and the staff! Great place to dine!!
Unmistakably fresh cooked/raw seafood is served and sold here 6 days a week, and in such a hidden location in between all the tall buildings in Mont Kiara its almost like a treasure hunt for me. Yes, you heard me right, this place serves seafood cooked or raw in a casual bistro style, and it also has a seafood deli, where I could get my fresh supply of sashimi salmon, octopus, salmon belly, bluefin tuna, scallops, oysters, crabs, lobster and so much more. It feels almost like a fish market in Monterey California, where I could either purchase my fresh fish, or eat it right there in the restaurant, really a cute and convenient concept. The seafood here is so fresh, it feels like it was just brought from the ocean, I mean I could taste the freshness, not a hint of fishy tasting seafood here. <br/ <br/ The cooking styles here is a mix of Japanese, new american, and Italian. They don't pride themselves as the expert of either cooking, but their food is pretty darn good and really fresh tasting in my opinion. Of course seafood is central to their offerings, but this place also offers lamb rack, grilled chicken, braised lamb shank, smoked duck salad, popcorn chicken and so much more. In other words this place is great for those who wants to surf and turf. <br/ <br/ Now fat fish is not a fancy dining restaurant, and it never implies itself as being fancy. Its more like a Fishermans wharf sort of atmosphere, very casual, but clean and neat. Most importantly it has plenty of seats, and has a table service. Now even though there are plenty of tables and chairs, I would highly recommend giving them a call ahead of time so that you are guaranteed a seat, because this place fills up pretty quick. <br/ <br/ Their price is honestly reasonable and affordable . Plan to spend RM 25 RM100 per person, depending on what you order. I would personally recommend their Barachirashi Don at RM 25, the dish is served in a big porcelain rice bowl, filled with rice at the bottom, and generously topped with four types of seasonal seafood, salmon, yellowtail, tuna and crab roe) this may change. The dish is simply fresh and a delight to someone who likes chirashi or crave the hawaiian poke.<br/ <br/ In addition their oysters is to die for here its market price, price ranging from RM 10 RM 20 per piece. I would also recommend their vongole clam sauce) pasta RM 30 it has the right balance of garlic, salty, sweet and sour in one dish, its quite authentic to the Italian version, and very generously portioned. A must here is the fresh sashimi/ raw fish such as salmon belly or tuna priced anywhere from RM 20 RM 40 per tray. And it can be eaten there or carried home . <br/ <br/ Service here is pretty decent and fast for a deli 10 20 minutes food is served), not much to complaint for a casual restaurant and the seats although not fancy is air conditioned and is comfortable. The parking however can be a headache at times since its small and fills up quick. There is a paid private lot at RM 3 per parking like in front of this place, however if that lot if filled, parking at one Mont Kiara shopping centre can also be utilized since it's a walking distance to the restaurant.
