We loved this little bar and went there every day of our 5 nights in Sestri Lavante! The owner, Daniele, is a fantastic host with recommendations for you. He makes great martinis and will make you just about any drink you would like. He brings out great snacks to have with your cocktails. We also dropped in one day for lunch. Great sandwiches and very inexpensive. Just a great place to stop and you will want to stay!... View all feedback.
What Nunzia Bellini doesn't like about Basquiat Lounge:
must come by and try them one of the best cocktails and delicious aperitive. it is in the middle in a narrow road, but away from the crowd. the owner and the workers very nice and friendly. music is really good. what is best and unique is all the tables and chairs decorated with the paintings of the artist “Basquat”! Aperitifs are great and the accompanying food was a delight. Drop in. It's a good pre dinner drink spot and service is great.
The decor is really like street art. The place has a very pleasant atmosphere, with an English speaking host. We had a tasty panini and an octopus salad both were good and attractively served with local fraught beer. Very pleasant.
This is a great place for a cocktail or aperitif with a small bite. Fresh made and served with a smile. Original. Worth a try!
In September 2013 we found this amazing cafe in the back, cobbled streets from our hotel on the foreshore. It looked so unique with Basquiat styled painting even on the wooden seats of the chairs at all of the tables. We were really looking for a place to dine that night so unfortunately we didn't return, but I was just so impressed, stunned, to find J-MB remembered in Sestri Levante (just up from the Cinqueterre). I'm not surprised that others enjoyed great aperitivi there!
We tried this place on our last evening in Sestri Levante and wished we had found it sooner. When you order a drink they bring lots of litlle snacks for free. Four of us had a cocktail each, all beautifully garnished and got a huge platter of tiny canapes such as torta di zuchini, tomato and tuna bruschetta, carrot crudites, green and black olives, crisps and sweet water melon on ice. All this for 5 Euros per person! Simply lovely and the bar staff are brilliant. A great place for young and old.
