"Five arrive for lunch get seated promptly at a great table, pleasant attentive waitress. Then it went rapidly down hill after an hour and a quarter no lunch we finally catch our waitress's attention and questioned the lengthy wait, she explained that every thing is made from scratch, she said she would mention our exasperation to the chefs. We then over hear another table of 6 guests that were already seated when we arrived, complaining loudly that they just wanted to pay for their drinks and leave! With out lunch. They were convinced to stay. Our 90 year old Relatves also wanted to exit but finally food started to arrive with numerous apologies for the wait. Not acceptable in a venue with SHH's reputation. We are long time Sooke residents, and were married in their Inn. It will sadly be a long time before we return."

"Don't miss this lovely little restaurant. I love the delicious sandwiches which are made on house made focaccia bread served with homemade soups options that change daily. Various baked goods appear regularly throughout the day. Many other breakfast and lunch choices also available. Only a 15 minute drive from Sooke (and well worth the trip), or a welcome stop enroute to our from the West Coast trail or Juan de Fuca trail. Open until 5 pm daily."

"Another hidden gym in Sooke for sushi! Small restaurant but extremely well oiled machine. Food was prepped and out in a timely fashion. Delicious , fresh and good selection. The fish for the sushi was caught that day I was told. Best sushi I have ever had"
