We made a spur-of-the-moment decision to book a table at Royal Oak since it's local to us, and we were pleased that we did. The food was excellent - I ordered the lasagne and my partner had the vegan burger, which he really enjoyed. We took advantage of the Monday madness menu, which had plenty of choices. The desserts were beautifully presented and a great value. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, constantly... View all feedback.
What Kayleigh B doesn't like about The Royal Oak:
Food great as normal.. however the pub was cold no open fire as usual. A member of staff waiting on tables and the bar kept continuously coughing all over everything.. not very nice when you eating. View all feedback.
Fabulous food, great prices, excellent portion sizes, the staff were friendly, helped in any way they could. Definitely recommend, and would come again.
Been here with a large group today for a meal. The service was fantastic. The portions are very generous the food is top quality. Will definitely be going back. Made a lovely group meal for us, thankyou
Me and a friend went there today 13 June it was my 60th birthday my friend was treating me. I ordered a Mixed Grill priced at £22 and he ordered Surf Turf at £17 the service was ok but the food was disgusting everything was very over done even the steak which was meant to be medium rare and medium, and full of gristle the chips were the worst I have ever had and the half a pound of peas were like bullets. All the of 3 lots of customers also complained that their food was over done and simply not edible. The female member of staff who served us was very nice but I felt sorry for her for taking the flack because no manager was present. I was more disappointed because I have eaten there in the past and the food was ok but this time it was dreadful. They need to find a Chef that can cook and a manager who can manage because sadly I shall not be eating there again. The best part was leaving the pub and going elsewhere. I really do hope that other customers don't experience the poor food and the Royal Oak improves.
Stopped here today on the off chance. We are not local, and were on route home after a trip away . Really lovely carvery , excellent choice of vegetables and meats . I'm very fussy with roast potatoes and these were perfect tasted fresh out of the oven. We left there very full , would highly recommend. We travel that way often. So will no doubt go back soon . Great carvery , great price .
I had the vegetarian Lasagne, garlic bread and chips, it was Absolutely Gorgeous . The place, atmosphere and staff, everything 5
