"Three of us were here for a family birthday and Clay's was once again a perfect choice. Wonderful food with all those special touches like walnut bread, freshly baked in-house. Great service from the lovely Trudy and her assistant in front of house. Clay's is...a gem, always delivers. Wonderful food, great value for the quality and a friendly relaxed welcome for all."

"Absolutely amazing experience here last night best meal iw ever had. online for our jubilee arrived here n on the table was a budding flower n a ballon. at the arrival took too table and got a glass champagne each on the house to celebrate then had a free oyster each to try that were amazing. we had snuggles to share for starter then whole lobster that was really wonderful the best was ever tried and a fish mixed grill to share all amazing. on a Monday and main courses were bogof, who felt a real bargain guilty to pay that much for what we had good the full price. the staff was beautiful and so helpful, friendly and had time to talk to them. really nice cooled restaurant with all fishing on the show and open kitchen, so they can see that everything is cooked. in any case again asap thank them so much to all the workers for our night really special."

"The vegan menu has three mains, two starters and no desserts now. It is great they have a vegan menu so good for them. But I wouldn't recommend the burger. It was a tastyish pattie made from chickpeas and sweet potato, but it came in a dry bun with a small piece of lettuce, piece of tomato and two pieces of pickled beetroot. There were fries too. I added ketchup from a sachet to all but it felt like a sad burger whuch would have loved a bit more thought. Try the other things on their menu instead if you're here. It's nice to sit in the garden area at the back and have a drink. Updated from previous review on 2021-09-08"
