"We've eaten at the Small Axe a couple of times over the past year and love it. We're both plant-based and there are tons of great, delicious options here. We really enjoy the poutine and tacos. Cocktails are excellent quality too and wine by the bottle is really reasonable. We're cyclists, so after a good ride in the area (which is gorgeous for cycling) we love to pop in here for a bite and some cold drinks. Given it's winter now, we'll be popping in after a cross country ski at nearby Larch Hills for a hot meal and some apres!"

"One of my favorite places to go for a nice lunch or slice of pie is definitely The Pie Company. It is such a cute little place and the food is amazing! They do have pies but they also have coffee, soup,sandwiches and water.It is the perfect place to eat if you are walking arownd downtown for the day. And I would strongly recommend trying it."

"Delicious, tasty gluten free lunch! Staff knowledgeable about celiac, gluten containing foods and cross contact. My husband and I felt at ease ordering our meal. Ordered the Mediterranean Flatbread (cauliflower crust) and Santa Fe Chicken Salad… so good! Also ordered drinks made with the Haskap berry (like a blueberry, locally grown on their farm)… yummy, glad we tried it! Wide variety of items to order on menu. Posted pictures of our meal and the gluten free menu."

"I tried this place on account of the reviews but I did not feel the it lived up to what I have read. The place was small and awkward at times as space was limited and if someone sat talking on their cell phone you...could not even think let alone have a conversation. I did like the washroom as I thought it was decorated nicely and had class. The wrap was just mediocre. At first my eyes popped as it looked huge but as I ate it I soon found it to be one of the most messy wraps I had ever had and everything fell apart and ended up on the plate. I went through a pile of napkins. It was all mostly just lettuce and sauce which is okay if you are wanting a salad but I ordered a wrap. When the staff walked by I told her about it and all she said was to make sure I clean up after myself and told me where to put my plate. Wow how do you like that for customer service. The latte was wonderful and not to many places can make it this good so they hit the mark here in fact I went back to get a 2nd iced latte. I think the restaurant is best on quieter times since seating is limited. I arrived just before lunch and it was quiet and it soon filled every chair by lunch. The menu looks like they have a huge variety. Not sure I'd go back for lunch but I definitely would for a latte. You do pay at the counter before receiving your order."

"Have enjoyed lunches and Japanese dinners there many times. very freshly prepared so it does take little longer to deliver, however well worth it for the great flavors and quaint ambience."
