"We had breakfast there (or tried to.) They gave us menus and coffee when we arrived. After that, they ignored us for 15 minutes, and there were still others with menus whose orders had not been taken and who had arrived before we did. Then we heard the waitress say to another table that the coffee machine was now broken. We left money on the table for the coffee and left.Clearly, they were unprepared to handle the number of tables they have in their establishment."

"I love the schnitzel and you really must order the homemade Mushroom Gravy it is delicious. The spaetzle is nice and light not dense. I am always happy with my meal. I do plan on going for dinner and ordering their Cheese Fondue. That would be so good!"

"We chose Haro's for a special birthday lunch and were all glad we did. Haro's was recommended several times to us; one couple were on the last leg of a Canadian vacation and said the food here was the best they had anywhere. The atmosphere is really nice and the service was wonderful. Peter, our waiter, was great and brought "Happy Birthday" sticky pudding for Mom."

"What a neat-looking place, nice porch with tables for enjoying a coffee or pastry or sandwich. The parking situation is not so good, however. It was scary trying to back up from the front entrance as it is right on the highway and at a curved part, so the oncoming traffic may not see us backing up. There is no way to turn around in the tiny parking lot -- you have to back up. At any rate, the experience with the food was "one good and one not so good". I really loved the sandwich but was underwhelmed with the Nanaimo bar. It was quite busy so guess it much be good."

"Simply one of the best restaurants on the island. everything was spectacular from service to atmosphere and amazing eating. their prices are quite reasonable for the quality of food and all the workers were very good about what they offer. can not recommend this place enough for anyone who enjoys great food."
