What User doesn't like about Lone Spur:
Apparently all the sandwiches today were served on Texas Toast bread today. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and it's not a sandwich in my opinion that should be presented on anything other than a roll. The waiter Don was very friendly but the manager on duty was extremely rude to us. This is a typical tourist town and the restaurant's always reflect it. Would not return or recommend this place. The best bacon blue cheese salad I’ve ever had. The blue cheese was chocked full of cheese chunks, unlike other restaurants that water it down. Seriously, one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten.
The service and the piano player were great. The food was okay, I had the Cowboy Burger and my wife had the Patty Melt. Several beers on the tap and the building/bar is cool.
The atmosphere is like an old hotel bar restaurant. The service was good with a friendly staff. The food was ok, nothing special. They have a piano player, who was good and added a nice touch to the place.
The Lone Spur Cafe is an excellent spot for breakfast in the morning and for enjoying drinks at the bar in the afternoon. My family and I stayed at a nearby hotel after a day at the lab, and we decided to have breakfast there on Thursday morning before heading to Rockwood for our train ride. The portions were generous and delicious!
The atmosphere was pleasant, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I felt at ease, as they adhered to all social distancing and mask guidelines.
