I have booked a reservation from 19:00 on Sunday via opentable. When I arrived at 18:55 with my wife, the hostess informed me that my table had been given to the local monsignor. because we weren't in a hurry, I was in order. the restaurant staff has accommodated us within few minutes with another table. I had the grilled Lachs-Entree salad and my wife had bowtie pasta. Both were very delicious! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Spezia Steaks, Italian Seafood:
our waitress was a nightmare! we waited for an hour to eat, late in the evening. We came at 6:55 and it was 8:25 when we got our food. the next people sat 10 minutes after us and got their food 30 minutes before us, then the food was different for the price. there was hardly a soße on my pasta and the pasta was smart and again, the waitress was snotty and rude! quite snippy. she seemed so upset that we didn't order a... Very poor service, overcharged for glass of wine, slow to take order get salads and entree came out before we were finished with salad
I booked a 7:00 PM Sunday reservation through OpenTable. When I arrived with my wife at 6:55 PM the hostess informed me that my table had been given to the local Monsignor. Since we were in no hurry, I was fine with that. The restaurant staff accommodated us with another table within a few minutes. I had the grilled salmon entree salad and my wife had bowtie pasta. Both were very tasty!
Our server Mandy did an excellent job. The food was delicious and we had a great time.
This was my first time trying GF pasta at Spezia and I will order it again and was pleased to learn they have GF flatbread/pizza crust too. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Server was helpful checking GF options and offering substitutes. Delicious food and comfortable atmosphere for a nice evening out. I like the booths which make it easier to talk to people at your table and help control the noise.
Returned to Spezia after many years. I was underwhelmed with the organization of seating when we arrived. The hostess did not make effort to make eye contact, meet and great patrons and would often disappear from her station despite many people waiting to place their name on a list for a table. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time with no explanation nor apology for the delay. Once seated, our server was attentive (although did forget to bring us the appetizer we ordered). Dinner was delicious but I would have liked to see more meatless options.
