"Food was decent overall but not as good as I remember from a few years ago. I got Chicken cremora mushroom: it was SWIMMING in cream sauce, very little mushrooms, and had strips of chicken which were unflavorful and overcooked/chewy. Also, had a musty odor when you enter the restaurant that was fairly strong. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch"

"We came in tonight after going to three other places trying to eat dinner at 6:30 on a Friday night. The small dining room was open and our party of six was immediately seated. I didn’t catch our waitresses name, but she was great. Very efficient and nice. We watched as 8 other tables came in after us, one after the other, filing every open table in the restaurant over the next 20 minutes. Our sweet waitress handled all these table on her own. Food came out for everyone all other tables included in a timely fashion. People had to wait for her to get to them for a few minutes, but she was the only one on the floor. There were also people walking in for take out orders as well. Food was very good; fresh and seasoned well. All around great experience. We’ll be back!"

"I love this place! It's a surprising hidden gem and Slidell. The hibachi is always prepared perfectly, and the sushi is beautiful and delicious. I love the pink lady roll! As a diner with food allergies I greatly appreciate that everyone goes out of their way to ensure a delicious and save dining experience. Give them a try, I guarantee they'll become a new favorite."

"I give it 5 stars for the good sushi at the best deal I know of! Go for happy hour sushi! Get a roll for 3.99 if regularly 6.50 or less! The waitress was super sweet! The rolls took no time to come out! Tried my first raw tuna roll here and I actually liked it! Picture is of tuna and crunchy roll 4 pieces left over and spicy mayo!"

"Arrived at 1120 for our 11:30 reservations. Were told there were 2 seatings ahead of us, and we could wait at the bar. We sat at the bar for 15 mins, waiting for service, bartender was by himself, he was Preparing drinks for the entire restaurant. We were then told we could sit there and wait for drinks but tab could Not carry over to table and table was now ready. We opted to be seated. Which turned out to be a very small table on the other side of the bar. All staff appeared to be very busy, hustling around a busy outdoor dining area. A young lady came and took drink order and appetizer order after about 10 mins and scurried off. Outdoors was busy, but not full. Our table was on the direct path from the kitchen and bar to the outdoor seating. Heavy traffic area. Appetizers were the chargrilled oysters, good and the spinach dip with seasoned crackers. Nice, but lacked a true flavor. Drinks were good. Turned out the bar tender was also working as our waiter. My Husband had chicken and waffles. The Waffle was crisp and light, very tasty, the chicken strips were plan. I had the Boudin Eggs Benedict. Was very good other than poached eggs were over done, yolk was semi soft at best. Presentation was well done. All staff were friendly but seemed rushed the entire time. Outdoor area looked lovely. Where we were seated we could not hear the music outside. Overall food was good, setting outside was cute, would definitely ask to be seated there if we ever go back. Consider having a small outdoor drink service area or more staff ??"

"We came here for my wife's birthday. Everyone was friendly and the place felt very inviting and comfortable. The best item we ordered was the appetizer, which was fried ravioli with lobster bits (a little overpriced). The food was really the main disappointment here. I should have realized this would be the case when I was served instant lemonade. I don't remember exactly what dishes we ordered, but I had some kind of seafood stuffing wrapped in pasta and my wife had a pork tenderloin which was the special that day. None of the flavors really stood out and none of was all that impressive. I couldn't tell what part of my dish was a crawfish, which was lobster, or which was shrimp. Very overpriced. I suppose it would be nice home cooking for some relatives. I don't drink, but I suppose if you're into that Assunta's might be a decent place to have some wine. We were dined here on 08/03/2023"
